Los Angeles police said Thursday that they arrested 22 men over two days for soliciting prostitution in the Pacoima area, after complaints that men seeking sex were harassing women shoppers.

The department’s Trick Task Force and officers from the Foothill Division arrested 12 men near the intersection of San Fernando Road and Van Nuys Boulevard on Tuesday, Sgt. Wayne Woolway said.

On Wednesday, the vice officers arrested 10 more men for soliciting sex acts at San Fernando Road and Hubbard Street, Woolway said.

The task force uses undercover policewomen to arrest men who offer money in exchange for sex. It was sent to Pacoima in response to complaints from women pedestrians and businessmen who said men in cars were propositioning women shoppers, Woolway said.
