Schwartz Wins 4-Lap Scratch Main Event

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event in the weekly speedway motorcycle program Friday night in front of 2,503 at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Following Schwartz were Mike Faria of Colton, Shawn McConnell of Brea and Scott Brown of Garden Grove.

Gary Hicks of Riverside won the eight-lap handicap event. Hicks was followed by Schwartz, Tuff McBride of Grand Terrace, Faria, McConnell and Brad Oxley of San Clemente.

Shane Hawley of Huntington Beach won the four-lap support class main event.
