After stealing S. Postal Service employee’s uniform and car on Thursday, a gunman walked into a North Hollywood bank, pointed a shotgun at employees and took an undisclosed amount of money, Los Angeles police said.

The unidentified suspect forced the postal employee into a unit of an unopened apartment building in the 1900 block of Bluffside Drive, said Cmdr. William Booth. He forced the victim to remove his uniform, donned the clothing himself and drove away in the victim’s car, a white station wagon with postal service markings, Booth said.

Shortly after the 1 p.m. incident, the suspect walked into the Independence Bank at 11000 Ventura Blvd., gathered all the employees in one area and took the money, Booth said.
