Temple City : City Cited for Safety Record

Temple City has received a merit award from the Automobile Club of Southern California for its 1986 pedestrian safety accomplishments.

Temple City was the only California community to receive the award in its population category of 25,000 to 50,000.

The city had no pedestrian fatalities in 1986, contrasted with 1.8 per 100,000 averaged by the 440 cities in the population category. The cities averaged a pedestrian injury rate of 48 per 100,000, compared to Temple City’s 26 per 100,000.
