The National League may take stricter measures against managers next season in incidents involving doctored bats and balls, league President A. Bartlett Giamatti told the Rotary Club of Pittsburgh.

Giamatti said he has talked with team owners about “holding managers responsible for a whole range of possible infractions that might involve cheating.”
