Orange County Prep Saturday : Frank Brothers Lead Servite to 27-0 Victory

Servite High School was very frank about its game plan Friday night. If the Friars wanted to pass the ball, they would rely on quarterback Jason Frank. If they wanted to run, they would give it to fullback Bill Frank.

The brothers Frank had a hand in all three Servite touchdowns as the Friars (4-0-1) easily defeated Long Beach Jordan, 27-0, at Jordan Stadium.

Jason Frank had his expected solid game, completing 10 of 17 passes for 174 yards and 2 touchdowns. But instead of the Friars’ usual leading rusher, Derek Brown, it was Bill Frank who grabbed the spotlight, rushing for 87 yards and a touchdown in 14 carries.

According to Servite Coach Leo Hand, Jordan’s defense keyed on Brown, opening things up for Bill Frank. Brown managed 57 yards in 11 carries.

Servite held a slim 6-0 lead at halftime, thanks to field goals of 51 and 20 yards by Pat Blottiaux.

Servite wore the Panthers (0-4) down in the second half, when Bill Frank scored on a 10-yard run with 1:38 left in the third quarter. A Jordan fumble on the ensuing possession gave Servite the ball on the Panthers’ 36-yard line. One play later, Jason Frank threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Oscar Ford for a 20-0 lead.

The Friars scored their final touchdown on a three-yard pass from Jason Frank to Craig Barkley in the fourth quarter.

Jordan was shut out for the second straight week, having lost to St. Paul 3-0 last Friday. Servite will play St. Paul next Saturday night at Gahr High School.
