The Port Theatre in Corona del Mar, one of the few art film houses in the county, was sold Thursday to two Newport Beach investors who say they plan no immediate change in its booking policy.
Scott T. Burnham and Curtis R. Olson bought the property for an undisclosed sum from the Henry estate of San Clemente, which represented the family of the original owners.
Built in 1945 as first-run movie theater, the Port, a 976-seat theater at 2905 E. Coast Highway, has been offering foreign films in recent years.
Burnham and Olson are principal corporate officers of Nexus USA, an Irvine-based investment and commercial real estate development firm, with real estate and office projects totaling more than $230 million. The purchase of the Port is separate from their activities with Nexus.
