A 25-year-old man was killed early Sunday when his motorcycle hit a stopped pickup truck, throwing him to the street, where he was run over by a car, authorities said.
The driver of the car, Gregory Brown, 35, of Encinitas, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and drunken driving, according to the California Highway Patrol. Brown was released from County Jail on $10,000 bail, according to a jail spokeswoman.
Jack Dennis Kelley, 25, of Solana Beach, was declared dead at 3:27 a.m. at Scripps Memorial Hospital. The accident occurred at 1:50 a.m., officials said, as Kelley was exiting onto Birmingham Drive from northbound Interstate 5.
Authorities said Kelley’s motorcycle collided with a pickup that was stopped on the exit ramp.
