Local News in Brief : Ex-Raider’s Rolls Stolen

A candy-apple red Rolls-Royce driven by former professional football star Lyle Alzado was stolen Tuesday in Palos Verdes Estates while the former defensive lineman was jogging.

The former Los Angeles Raider defensive end returned from a morning jog on the Palos Verdes Peninsula to where he had parked the 1985 Rolls Corniche, worth an estimated $125,000, and found an empty space, police said.

Alzado, who left football two years ago to pursue a career in movies and television, told police he parked and locked the leased car, which is equipped with an alarm system, and embarked on his 2 1/2-hour workout.
