Iran’s ambassador to China said today that Iran has dozens of U.S.-made Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, but he refused to say where it got them.

Ambassador Alaeddin Boroujerdi also reiterated that Iran captured its Chinese-made Silkworm missiles in battle from Iraq and said Iran’s use of them in the Iran-Iraq War therefore has nothing to do with China. Boroujerdi, at an embassy news conference, said foreign estimates of the size of Iran’s arsenal of the sophisticated Stingers are far too low.
