Pitcher Dickie Noles was traded for himself Friday, returning to the Chicago Cubs to complete a deal under which the Detroit Tigers had acquired him for a player to be named later.
Detroit acquired Noles, 30, Sept. 21, but he is returning to Chicago because the clubs failed to agree on which player the Tigers were to send the Cubs, Detroit General Manager Bill Lajoie said.
