Counseling Service to Honor USC’s Arroyo

The Community Counseling Service will honor Dr. William Arroyo for his extensive research on the psychological trauma of war violence on Central American refugee children at its annual dinner at tonight at 6:30 in the USC Faculty Center.

Arroyo is clinical professor of psychiatry at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. Community Counseling Service is a nonprofit agency providing residential crisis care for the inner city mentally ill and bilingual outpatient counseling for Spanish and English speaking families.

Keynote speaker at the dinner will be State Sen. Art Torres, who will outline the mental health needs of the multiethnic communities of metropolitan Los Angeles. Information: (213) 746-5260.
