THE PREPS : Girls’ Basketball Roundup : Easterly Leads Katella to 87-12 Win
Forward Joni Easterly scored 26 points to lead the Katella High School girls’ basketball team to an 87-12 victory over Sonora in the second round of the Fullerton Tournament.
Easterly was 12 of 12 from the floor.
Stacy Johnson added 14 points for the Knights (2-0), and Angie Gomez and Karri Johnson each scored 12.
Katella made 42 of 56 shots (75%).
In the Irvine tournament:
La Quinta 75, Moreno Valley 29--Patti Leuta scored 14 points and Donna Gondringer added 13 points to lead the Aztecs (2-0). Gondringer, a 6-2 center, had eight rebounds. Amy Jalewalia added 12 points and had 8 rebounds and 8 steals.
