Orange : Missing Children Group Gets $13,000 in Gifts
The Adam Walsh Resource Center of Southern California, which searches for missing children, has received $13,000 in donations from two Orange County organizations.
The Orangewood Foundation, which raises money to help abused and neglected children, contributed $8,000 to the center and Santa Ana Elks Lodge No. 794 provided the additional $5,000.
Susan Davidson, director of the Adam Walsh Center, said the money would greatly help the organization since most of its funding comes from nonprofit groups.
“These generous donations are a godsend,” she said. “Each call we place to help a child costs money.”
Davidson said that the center has been involved in locating 95 missing children this year. Last year, it helped locate 39 missing children.
“It is because of the community caring and groups like the Elks and Orangewood Foundation that this has been possible,” she said.
