Honeywell posted earnings of $254 million for 1987, a turnaround from a net loss of $398 million in 1986, when the Minneapolis company had an after-tax charge of $176 million for restructuring and $411 million in losses related to its discontinued computer business. The company said operating profit was up in its home and building business, industrial automation and control business, space and aviation systems, and defense and marine systems. Revenue was up 24% to $6.679 billion.
