A Costa Mesa man has won $2.2 million from the California Lottery, officials announced Thursday.
Steven Lawler won the Lotto Six-49 game by choosing all six winning numbers, a lottery spokeswoman said. He will split the $4.4-million jackpot with a Sacramento man who also picked six correct numbers.
Lawler bought his ticket at a 7-Eleven market on the 2200 block of Fairview Road in Costa Mesa. The store will receive 0.5% of the jackpot.
Lawler will pay 20% of his winnings to the Internal Revenue Service but will not pay any state tax, the spokeswoman said.
The winnings will be paid out to Lawler in annual installments of $88,800 over the next 20 years, the spokeswoman said.
The six winning numbers were 22, 9, 3, 5, 32, 30. The bonus number was 19.
