Lazers Try to Snap Forum Losing Streak

The Lazers will try once again tonight to break their home-arena jinx in the Major Indoor Soccer League when they play host to the Tacoma Stars at 7:30 at the Forum.

After a fast start--thanks mostly to success on the road--the Lazers were only a game behind the first-place San Diego Sockers earlier this month. Since, they have gone into a tailspin reminiscent of the Lazers of old.

They have lost four straight games, five straight at the Forum, and have fallen into third place in the Western Division.

The Lazers (10-11) have by far the worst home record at 3-7, a tradition that apparently refuses to die. They lost a club-record six straight home games during both the 1982-83 and 1985-86 seasons.

The second-place Stars (12-13) are paced by Preki, the league’s leading scorer with 31 goals and 27 assists.
