Pavel Ploc of Czechoslovakia won his fourth World Cup ski jumping event of the season at Gstaad, Switzerland, while Finland’s Olympic hope, Matti Nykaenen, finished a disappointing fifth.

Ploc, 23, had jumps of 84 and 87 meters for a winning 218 points in the second contest of Switzerland’s three-hill competition.

Miran Tepes of Yugoslavia was second with jumps of 81.5 and 86.5 meters for 214.7 points, followed by Jens Weissflog of East Germany with 82.5 and 84 for 212.3 points.
