NDC, one of the largest liquor distributors in Southern California, is closing its operations here, according to the Feb. 1 issue of Beverage Bulletin. The publication says NDC was hurt by the loss of several major customers, including National Distillers, whose brands include Gilbey’s gin and Old Grand Dad bourbon. Based in Atlanta, NDC started its Southern California operations in 1974 with the $2.4-million acquisition of Milford Co., a Los Angeles distributor.
