Du Pont Co. and Dow Chemical Co., the nation’s No. 1 and No. 2 chemical companies, respectively, both reported healthy earnings for the full year, with a boost coming from lower oil prices and a stronger world economy. Wilmington, Del.-based Du Pont said net income for the year rose 16% to $1.79 billion on a 12% revenue gain. Midland, Mich.-based Dow said its earnings for the year rose to $1.25 billion, up 68%. Revenue rose 20% to $13.38 billion.
