THE PREPS : Girls’ Soccer : Mulhaupt Leads Capistrano Valley to 3-0 Win

Laurinda Mulhaupt had a goal and an assist Thursday to lead Capistrano Valley High School to a 3-0 victory over El Toro in a South Coast League girls’ soccer match at Capistrano Valley.

The Cougars (13-3-2 overall, 3-1-2 in league) took a 1-0 lead late in the first half on a goal by Jill Linhart, with Mulhaupt assisting. Mulhaupt, a junior who plays the right wing, made it 2-0 early in the second half, scoring on a breakaway down the middle. It was the first goal of her high school career. With two minutes to play, junior forward Ginger Frank scored on a 40-yard shot.

Cougar goalie Pam Gladden had four saves. El Toro is 1-4-1 in league.
