College Roundup : Chapman Wins in Baseball
Center fielder Bryan Beals had four hits and scored four runs to lead Chapman College to a 10-7 victory over Cal State Fullerton Saturday in a nonconference baseball game at Titan Field.
Beals had four singles and two walks to help the Panthers (2-1) take the second of three games against Fullerton, the defending Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. champions. Fullerton (2-2) won the first game Friday, 5-0.
Chapman had 15 hits--including 14 singles--off three pitchers.
Steve Halweg (1-0) earned the victory, going 2 innings and giving up only one run.
Starter Mark Beck took the loss after giving up seven runs, four earned, in 2 innings.
Mike Ross had a two-run home run in the fifth inning for Fullerton.
