Atlantic Richfield Co. said it acquired a controlling interest in Tricentrol PLC. The announcement came a day after the small British oil company agreed to be acquired by Arco in a deal valued at $329 million (187 million pounds). Arco, which had held a 14.8% stake in Tricentrol, announced that it made additional stock purchases Wednesday and Thursday, boosting its interest to 54.5%.
