Anxious San Jose school officials and parents were keeping a closer watch on their frightened children after a series of attempted kidnapings in which a man has tried to lure young girls into his car with a gray kitten. “Everyone is really scared that something will happen again, because he shows no real fear,” said Dee Collier, who has a daughter and three grandchildren at Hillsdale Elementary School.
