Loyola Puts 13-Game Win Streak on Line
Riding a 13-game winning streak, Loyola Marymount faces two of its top West Coast Athletic Conference opponents on a two-game trip to the Bay Area.
The Lions, 16-3 overall and 6-0 in the WCAC, play at USF tonight, then face Santa Clara on Saturday. Loyola leads the nation in scoring with an average of 108.2 points per game. Hank Gathers leads the conference in scoring with a 22.9 average, one of five Lions in double figures.
USF is 11-8 and 3-3 and features center Mark McCathrion, who averages 15.5 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Pat Clardy and guard Keith Jackson also average in double figures.
Santa Clara is 14-5 overall and 5-1 in the WCAC. The Broncos are 11-0 at home.
