The man suspected of being Los Angeles’ “impostor rapist” was back behind bars in Oregon Saturday, a day after he escaped from Washington County Jail near Portland. Terrance W. Westfall, also known as Wayne Taira, has been accused of attacking 13 Los Angeles women between December, 1986, and May, 1987. He escaped from the jail Friday by throwing a fan through a second-story window and jumping out. Sheriff’s deputies used a helicopter equipped with a searchlight to find Westfall, 28. He was spotted running through a field in Hillsboro, a Portland suburb. He was unarmed. Westfall was awaiting trial on charges of rape, attempted rape, robbery, assault and two counts of kidnaping, all in Oregon.
