Girls’ Basketball Playoffs
Reseda 77, Lincoln 40--It took almost a year, but the championship pennant that the Reseda Regents won in last year’s City 3-A final was finally hung from the Reseda gym rafters. Workers struggled for three hours to fit a crane through the gym doors in an effort to reach the three-story high beams.
School officials probably would be wise to keep the crane in the gym.
It took only 90 minutes for the Regents (19-1) to advance to the semifinal round of the 3-A playoffs.
Angie Smith scored 10 points in the first half as Reseda led, 41-19. Smith finished with 14 points.
Lincoln (11-5) never posed a threat in the second half. The closest it could get was 49-29 with 3:29 left in the third quarter.
