Luton Town reached a Wembley soccer final for only the second time in its English League history Sunday, defeating Oxford United, 2-0, in the semifinal, second leg of the Littlewoods Cup.

Luton, which won, 3-1, on aggregate goals, will play defending Cup holder Arsenal in the final on April 24. The First Division team has not been to Wembley since the 1959 F.A. Cup final when it lost to Nottingham Forest.

Luton established itself as the favorite to beat Oxford after salvaging a 1-1 draw away from home in the first leg of the Littlewoods final, a competition also known as the League Cup.

Brian Stein and Ashley Grimes scored the goals in Luton’s victory Sunday, both coming in the first half.

Luton also has reached the last eight of the more prestigious F.A. Cup and is aiming for two cup finals in the same season.
