Roundup : Criss Leads Servite Past Pius X, 36-0

Brian Criss went 7 for 7 with 3 doubles, 1 home run and 10 RBIs to lead Servite High School to a 36-0 rout of Pius X in an Angelus League baseball game Saturday at Pius X.
Criss, a senior catcher, also scored seven runs for Servite. The Friars (7-2, 3-0) had 24 hits and 6 home runs.
Chad Troxel (1-0) gave up one hit and struck out five in the first four innings for the victory. Pius X, 0-3 in league, used three pitchers.
In a Sunset League game:
Ocean View 6, Huntington Beach 1--Todd Bayley went 3 for 3 with a home run in the sixth to lead host Ocean View (6-3-1, 2-0-1) over Huntington Beach (10-3, 1-2).
Matt Bertram had a three-run home run in the sixth and Mark Brenner had a two-run double with the bases loaded in the first for Ocean View.
Dan Naulty (5-0) had four strikeouts and gave up five hits in a complete-game victory. Chance Agnew had a home run in the sixth for Huntington Beach, the third-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn poll.
