Acat got tangled in electrical wires Sunday morning and knocked out power to about 7,000 homes in the West San Fernando Valley for more than 30 minutes.

The power went out at 10:04 a.m. and was restored by 10:38 a.m., said Dorothy Jensen, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

The cat, which was electrocuted, apparently climbed a power pole in the 19400 block of Sherman Way in Reseda and got caught in the lines, Jensen said.
