BLACK CLOUT

How can you print an article on the new black clout in Hollywood and not discuss the almost total exclusion of black women from the system?

Women in general are not in decision-making positions in the television and movie business, but black women in particular get no breaks at all--Whoopi Goldberg notwithstanding. Twenty percent of the television viewing audience is estimated to be black, and of that I’d wager three-quarters are women. You’d think, with those statistics, it would make sense to have them represented in the Hollywood power base, wouldn’t you? What’s going on here?
