I’ve sat through two episodes of “Day by Day,” which the network has billed as the next “Family Ties.” My personal opinion is that although the cast is an interesting array of personalities to say the least, the show’s writing is weak and silly, and the husband reminds me of a modern-day Ed Norton of “The Honeymooners.” The show’s pre-school theme gets a bit trying--a “Family Ties” it will never become.
