Evan Mecham is the first governor of Arizona ever to be impeached and the eighth in U.S. history to be removed from office, according to Dr. Thad Beyle, a political science professor at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill who has researched the subject.
The following governors were impeached, convicted and removed from office:

1876--Alexander Davis, Mississippi
1913--William Sulzer, New York

Gov. Henry Warmoth of Louisiana was impeached in 1872 but completed his term before trial, and Gov. Adelbert Ames of Mississippi was impeached in 1876 but resigned to avoid trial.
