Police on Thursday released a second sketch of a woman whose headless body was found last week under a bush in Santiago Park.

The woman’s severed head was found Sunday in the dry Santiago Creek bed in the same park, not far from where the victim’s body was discovered.

Autopsy results showed that the woman died of stab wounds to the neck, police spokeswoman Maureen Thomas said. The type of weapon used has not been revealed.

The dark-haired woman was wearing a yellow tank top, white pants, white low-heeled shoes and gold hoop earings, Thomas said. The woman was described as about 30 years of age, either Anglo or Latino, about 5 feet, 3 inches tall, and weighing about 130 pounds.

The first sketch, showing a side view of the woman’s face, was released Wednesday.

Thomas said there were no new leads in the case, although police received about 15 phone calls after the first sketch was published. “We’re checking that information out now,” Thomas said.

Anyone with any information about the woman is asked to call police at (714) 647-5147.
