A Berkeley waterfront commissioner has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder a University of California professor and his wife. Robert Mishell, 53, a biology professor, and his wife, Barbara, 51, a research associate, both at the UC Berkeley campus, were attacked at their home Jan. 31. She has been in a coma ever since. Mishell, who suffered partial memory loss, was only last week able to name commissioner Enrique Zambrano as the attacker, authorities said. Zambrano, 44, who also works as a building contractor, built a swimming pool deck for the Mishells about three years ago and lives a few blocks away. Police declined to reveal a motive for the attack.
