Prep Roundup : Valencia Wins Its 34th Consecutive Golf Match
Wednesday’s rain did not dampen the Valencia High School golf team’s efforts as it won its 34th consecutive match by defeating Garden Grove, 204-237, in an Orange League match at Alta Vista Country Club in Placentia.
Valencia (15-0 overall, 7-0 in league play) was led by senior J.B. Broms, who shot a one-over-par 38. Broms was a top recruit of UC Irvine but has decided to attend Claremont College.
Garden Grove is 10-4 overall and 4-3 in league play.
In Garden Grove League volleyball play:
La Quinta 3, Bolsa Brande 0--Tony Price had 15 kills and Craig Frisby 14 to lead La Quinta to a 15-7, 15-7, 15-7 victory at Bolsa Grande. Jeff Tautrim played well defensively for La Quinta (9-4, 5-3). Bolsa Grande drops to 5-3 in league.
