Planner’s Move to Santa Clarita
Pity for the people of the City of Santa Clarita, who now have a new community development director, Kyle Phillip Kollar (April 6).
The city officials who appointed Mr. Kollar to this position are blind to the type of development in the city of Lancaster. Over the last 10 years, Lancaster has experienced the destruction of juniper trees, Joshua trees and potential parkland or greenbelt space to the amoeba-like growth of heterogeneous housing tracts and mini-malls.
The question is, will the Santa Clarita Valley suffer the same fate as the Antelope Valley community of Lancaster? Perhaps Mr. Kollar will guide the City of Santa Clarita through “planned” development as well.
