Local News in Brief : Reward in Arco Slaying
Arco is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man who last month shot and killed a 50-year-old customer at one of the company’s Torrance service stations.
Masafumi Matsunaga of Torrance was killed by a single shotgun blast on March 18, police said, after refusing to turn over his wallet and car keys to a robber at the gas station and mini-market at Artesia Boulevard and Western Avenue.
Anyone with information about the slaying should call Torrance Police Sgt. Jack McDonald at 618-5693 or Detective Andy Conahan at 618-5572. Police officials can be reached at 328-3456 after 5 p.m. and on weekends.
Arco officials said that over the past 11 years, they have paid more than $2 million in rewards.
