Neighbor Charged With Arson in Felton Street Blaze
A 37-year-old San Diego man who reportedly was angry with his neighbor and her eight children was charged with arson Thursday, a day after he allegedly set the neighbor’s house on fire, San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
Alfredo Belmont was being held in County Jail on suspicion of arson. Bail was set at $25,000.
The hair of the unidentified woman was singed in the fire, and her 4-year-old son complained of skin irritation from the gasoline used to start the blaze, in the 1800 block of Felton Street, Robinson said. The extent of damage was still unknown, Robinson said.
The other children, who ranged in age from 4 to 17, escaped without injury, Robinson said.
