PASSINGS : Martin J. O’Dea; Former Hibernia Bank President
Martin J. O’Dea, 76, who climbed from a job as office messenger to president of the Hibernia Bank of San Francisco. He began his banking career in 1928, was named vice president and manager of Hibernia’s downtown branch in 1956. In 1963 he was elected director and in 1968 was named president. He was past president of the Serra Club of San Francisco. In San Francisco on Friday after what was described only as a long illness.
