South High Wins
South Torrance maintained its hold on first place in the Bay League softball race Thursday with a 13-1 victory over host Palos Verdes.
The Spartans (7-3 in league, 11-6 overall) collected 13 hits while pitcher Ginger Ales (5-3, 7-5) limited Palos Verdes to four hits. Dawn Anderson led the offense by going 3 for 4 with two RBI and freshman shortstop Gillian Boxx was 2 for 4.
South meets West Torrance at 3 p.m. today at Walteria Park in an important league game.
