Burroughs High rolled to its third consecutive Foothill League dual-meet track championship with a 80-47 victory over Hart on Thursday at Burroughs.
Powered by seniors Doug Dragomer, Bruce Luizzi, Sasha Vujic and Mike Steward, the Indians (8-0, 5-0 in league meets) turned into a rout what was expected to be a close meet.
Dragomer, who placed eighth in last year’s Southern Section 3-A Division championships in the 100 meters, won the 100-yard dash in 9.9 seconds and placed second in the 220-yard dash in a personal best of 22.5.
Luizzi narrowly lost to Dragomer in the 100, also running 9.9, and won the 220 in 22.1. Dragomer and Luizzi, who placed fifth in last year’s section championships in the 100, also ran legs on the victorious 440 (44.0) and mile relays (3:36.9).
Vujic won the mile and two mile with scorching last laps. His final 440 of 60.7 gave him a time of 4:38.2 in the mile and he ran 9:50.7 in the two mile with a 63-second last lap.
Steward, who placed third in last year’s 3-A championships in the pole vault, won that event with a effort of 14-0, which equaled his personal best.
