Local News in Brief : La Habra : Bank Branch Robbed of $1,000 in Cash
Police were searching Friday for a bandit who robbed a Security Pacific bank branch of $1,000 in cash Thursday afternoon.
No injuries were reported in the holdup, which occurred at 1:45 p.m. Police said a thin white man about 25 years old entered the bank at 200 S. Beach Boulevard, walked up to a teller and handed her a note demanding money.
Simulating a weapon, but never displaying one, the robber warned the teller that if she did not turn over all the money she would die, La Habra Police Lt. Terry Rammell said.
As the teller collected money, Rammell said, the bandit then politely inquired, “Are you working hard today?” After she turned the money over, Rammell said he added, “That’s a good girl. You did fine.”
