The intricacies of American law will be explained to lawyers and laymen alike this week in a series of lectures and seminars sponsored by the San Diego County Bar Assn.

A full calendar of events is planned for Law Week, today through Saturday, revolving around the theme “Legal Literacy: The ABC’s of American Law and Justice.”

Among the free offerings will be presentations on drunk driving laws, small claims court, immigration laws and the rules governing wills, probate and estates. Highlights include a Tuesday seminar featuring the attorneys who serve as producer and technical adviser to the hit television show “LA Law” and a panel discussion Thursday with jurors from the Craig Peyer, Sagon Penn and Roger Hedgecock trials. On Saturday, volunteer lawyers will provide free legal advice to the public at seven area shopping malls.
