In a case linked to a gay, satanic cult, ex-waiter Clifford St. Joseph, 46, was sentenced to 34 years to life in prison for killing a man and stuffing his mutilated body under a parked truck in San Francisco. The murder victim, a drifter, has never been identified. His chest had been carved with a pentagram, the five-pointed emblem associated with devil worship. He had been chained, his blood drained into a chalice and drunk, and one of his testicles cut out, police said. In March, a jury found St. Joseph guilty of first-degree murder in the 1985 crimes. The killing and alleged cult were “part of an underworld we don’t want to admit exists in our society,” said Deputy Dist. Atty. Paul Cummins.
