Article on Muslim Faith in the County

What a magnificent article (May 1) about the Muslim faith in Orange County. Lynn Smith and Mark Boster were a wonderful team for this subject. I am very happy to see stories that reinforce the importance of exploring and paying attention to the spiritual side of life as an important part of a life style, whatever the choice.

Orange County is often depicted in ways that lump or stereotype people into certain categories--mostly fast lane, selfish, greedy and unconcerned about others. This can be true of anyplace but seems to be concentrated here because of the affluence. However, I am very encouraged to see much of it is not true. Most of the people I know have deep concerns for others. They have a deep faith in God. Many may not be attending a church, but they live good, ethical lives. Others find that synagogues and churches give them a community family where they find comfort and support. More and more people have been turning to their faith choices when they discover this is available there, as you pointed out in your article on people returning to services after a long absence.
