Witches Can’t Conjure Up a New King
Friday the 13th proved unlucky for the witches of the world; they could not find a new king.
After meeting in a secret location somewhere in Britain, the mysterious Witches Council decided against naming a successor to High Priest Verbias, also known as Alex Sanders, who died last week after a 25-year-reign.
“After due consideration, a unanimous motion was carried that there is no need for a king of the witches,” High Priest Nigel Bourne told Reuters. “This is fortunate as there is no one properly prepared for the role.”
Sanders was spiritual leader to about 100,000 witches in Britain and up to a million worldwide, Bourne said. The former king campaigned to make witchcraft acceptable after it was legalized in Britain in 1951.
