Moses Turner, one of nine Watts-area brothers who were all either dead or jailed, has been freed from custody, and another man was charged with the assault of an Inglewood minister, sheriff’s deputies said. Turner was originally identified as the man who beat up a minister in a South-Central Los Angeles park earlier this month and robbed him of his pants, which contained $31 and the keys to his Mercedes, said Lt. Russ Owens. But an unrelated robbery investigation led deputies to Damon Parks, 27, who was arraigned Tuesday on the robbery charge, Owens said.

Meanwhile, another brother, John Turner, has been ordered held on $5-million bail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and arson stemming from incidents April 26. John Turner is accused of firing on a California Highway Patrol officer and burning a sheriff’s deputy’s car after his brother Joseph was killed in a drug raid.
