The words cocaine and contras were uttered in the same breath at Helena’s in Silver Lake on Tuesday night. The star-studded event was a fund-raiser for the Christic Institute, a Washington public interest law center that has filed suit in federal court alleging links between U.S. foreign policy and international drug rings. The celebrities there listened a reading from Carrie Fisher’s new book, “Postcards From the Edge,” in which a character tries desperately but vainly to kick a cocaine habit. Among those attending the $100-a-head event were Fisher, Rob Reiner, Allyce Beasley, Woody Harrelson, Henry Gibson and poet Michael Lally.
