Codercard, Irvine, reported a loss of $195,998 for the third quarter of fiscal 1988, compared to a loss a year earlier of $75,525. Sales for the quarter ended March 31 totaled $21,196, compared to sales of $3,848 in the like quarter a year ago. Codercard, which makes computer security systems based on a computer access card, attributed the increased loss to a substantial increase in marketing and sales expenses as the company moves out of its research and development phase and focuses on marketing. For the nine-month period, the company had a loss of $150,921, compared to a year-earlier loss of $427,518. Sales totaled $106,792, more than three times the $28,477 recorded for the comparable fiscal 1987 period.
